VAL

The Power of Emotions Coaching

I sought Shannon’s online services – Trauma-Informed Approaches – during the pandemic. Her podcast with the CBC had left an impression on me. Once we connected, she quickly put together the training I was looking for and was such a pleasure to work with! Relatable, fun, putting you at ease from the start and practicing right on the spot what she was teaching, she built her sessions with targeted content, fascinating research, additional techniques, and a clearer understanding of the implications and challenges inherent to trauma-informed approaches, but more importantly their benefits for all involved. She shared great resources, provided very insightful homework and helped me fine-tune my coaching as I had hoped and more! I am truly grateful.

I had the privilege of recently attending a workshop by Shannon Hardy on trauma informed practice. It was an enriching and very helpful session. Shannon is an articulate and compassionate teacher with a depth of knowledge and experience. After the workshop, I feel better equipped to assess when others are manifesting trauma symptoms and respond with patience and understanding. Shannon has a way of stripping away the shame that so often gets attached to vulnerability. As a teacher, she is gentle and knowledgeable. She is one of those wonderful people who has a lot of valuable insight to share, but who also makes you feel like she values what you have to say as well. I would encourage anyone to take a training or workshop with Shannon if you have the opportunity.

The two day abortion doula training was excellent! It builds a great foundation for understanding abortion and is a good jumping off point for other kinds of training. Really, really highly recommend!

Thank you so much for a really informative course.  I learned a great deal about supporting others, and also a great deal about running a respectful lecture/course.  As I plan on teaching one day, I felt like I learned a great deal about navigating learning environments as the head of the conversation.
